Scootie Pudding report

Hi folks.

Well 14 foolhardy soles made the trip to Stromness today (12th April) to attempt to take the Scootie Pudding trophy back to SRGC. But alas this was not to be.

The teams were picked and just as we were due to start the wind roared and the heavens opened….Could this be a sign or a warning??? So play was delayed for 10 minutes and as the shower eased we got under way only to be torchured for the first half hour or so by driving rain and sleet! The wind was gale force and never abated during the whole match making play very difficult. In fact it’s the first time I have seen drivers being used at the 162yard PAR 3 10th!! and all 4 of us failed to make the green. Now that’s extreme golf! and so the day went on battling against the wind and then being assisted by it, sometimes all to much!.

Veni, Vidi, Vici. Nope more like We came, we tried, we failed! Nevermind there is always next year.

Well done to Stromness on retaining the Trophy and a huge thanks to all who played in very testing conditions.

Thanks also to Stromness for being very good host’s and the much appreciated steaming hot plates of mince and clapshot they plied us with to defrost everyone.

Thanks to all
