Off and running

Well folks that’s this winters competitions off and running with the first Stableford for the winter Eclectic played yesterday (SAT) and the first stroke play for the winter league today.

Both were played in good conditions and both saw good turnouts and some new faces.

As is normal with the winter competitions that a few have already posted very good scores and the ruthless chopping of handicaps has begun.

Jim Bews won on Saturday and recieved a 1 stroke cut for his efforts and the today……..well lets just say that it was carnage for some with 12 stroke being removed from 4 players !! But with that we say well done to Dennis Townsend and George Coltherd who both carded 30 today ( and were rewarded with 4 stroke cut’s each!) Dennis won the sweep on count back . Jim Seatter was 3rd on 31 and Stewart Fotheringhame 4th on 33 and they were also recipients of the dreaded chop.

So that’s the first scores for the 2 leagues in and thanks to the 31 players took part over the 2 days which was great to see and let’s hope that continues.
