DQ’s

We, unfortunately, had a few disqualifications at yesterdays Open.

The majority of these were due to score cards NOT being signed.

Please ensure that you and the marker both sign your card and check that the correct handicap has been entered on it before posting it.

We had one diqualification due to a player removing a yardage post in order to play his shot. The local rules, on the new score cards, deem these along with styles and wooden crossings to be immovable objects and therefore relief is given under rule 24. The player, had he realised this, should have declared a penalty of 2 strokes but because he didn’t he was disqualified for sighning for a wrong gross score.

Please don’t let this happen to you.

Yellow and Red hazard markers may be removed if they are impeding your play but white boundary markers and deeply imbedded posts cannot.
