2019 Pipe Dream Plumbing Ladies Open

On Sunday 16th June, 17 ladies turned out on what seemed a fine day for the annual Pipedream Open. Once out on the course the wind whipped up making the first nine holes very challenging, with a light shower the wind feel away making it almost perfect golf weather. Remember this is Orkney and it wasn’t to last, most ladies finished dry, unfortunately the last two groups got caught in torrential rain.Not to worry waiting for the soaked ladies was Betty and Jacqueline with a smile, cuppa soup and pulled pork roll.Two ladies managed to get hole in two, Linda Bonner on hole 14 and Shona Slater on hole 15, she also had nearest to pin on the ninth.Longest Drive on 17th H/C 0-20 was Shona Croy, H/C 21 & over Liz DreverGross winner was Shona Croy,88;  2nd on countback Shona Slater, 93;  3rd Lynn shearer,93;Nett winner was Linda Bonner, 72;  2nd Michelle Clouston,74;  3rd Sheila Hourston 78;   Congratulations to them all.I would like to thank Andy Gunn for the generous sponsorship, we really appreciate this. Ben our greenkeeper for the condition of the course, all the ladies for the soup and homebakes, especially Betty and Jacqueline and all the men for their help.Hopefully we will see you all on the 29th for the GM.Training and Murray Arms Hotel Open, it doesn’t always rain in the Hup.
