2 clubs and a putter

In conditions not unlike that being experienced at Castle Stuart 12 players turned up to take part in the challenge that is 2 clubs and a putter.

A heavy shower had just passed at 1400 and play got underway with 4 groups of 3 and a shotgun start. As usual there was a varied choice of clubs with some players choosing to use irons and others with a wood or hybrid and and iron.

A heavy shower came on halfway into the game and then after a brief respite turned into a full blown thunder clump. A couple of flashes of lightning, whitch may stop the likes of Westwood and Donald, didn’t deter this foolhardy bunch as they soldiered on.

Despite the conditions there were some very good scores with Davie Nicol and Duncan Swanney joint winners with 35 followed by John Rosie with a 37. Well done lads. There was to be a prize presentation but last years winner (Martin Wick) forgot to bring back the 4″ nail he had been pressented with! Sorry lads.

Thanks to all who joined in including some new face. So lets hope the experience hasn’t put  Graham Wilkinson, Scott and Cameron Drever and Magnus Walker off??
