Back in June 10 S.R.G.C. members made the trip to the mainland for a weekends golf.First stop on the Saturday afternoon was Lybster where we were met with the usual excellent hospitality. Our thanks to Janette for the soup and sandwiches before we played. We played 9 holes stableford with the scores being carried forward to the next day.James Sim on 20 and Raymie Peace on 19 being the pick of the scores.
A quick drive down to Strathpeffer where we spent the night so we could be up bright and early for our first tee-off time of 9am on Sunday morning. As you can see by the photos Strathpeffer did not dissappoint with some of the most picturesque scenery for a golf course anywhere in Scotland. After an excellent lunch in the clubhouse the scores were added and James Sim was best on 51 closely followed by Stewart Fotheringhame on 50 with Raymie Peace 3rd on 40.
An easy drive up the road gave us plenty of time to drop back pasy Lybster for a cup of tea and a few more holes before returning to the minibus ( driven by Billy Scott ) .
A very enjoyable weekends golf for all, especially those getting their first taste “on tour”.
