The Hope ladies open was played on Saturday 29th July where we welcomed 39 ladies, coming from as far as Kemnay, Kirkwall, Stromness and Westray, thankyou all for coming and making it a fantastic day. The weather was ideal with no wind and very warm conditions, we wont mention the wee shower in the afternoon. Im sure Shona Slater takes it doon with her from Dounby, so as her men can get on with the farm work.
Nearest the pin on the 6th in the 21 & over H/C Liz Drever, she also had a two on the 6th, Sheia Hourston also had a two on the 15th.Longest Drive on the 18th, 0-20 H/C Lynn shearer, in the 21 & over H/C Judith Bonner.A very delighted Shona Slater took home the Gross Trophy with a 83, Shona Croy was second with 85 and on countback in 3rd place was Lynn Shearer on 88.It was certainly a day for the West Mainland ladies with Tina Smith coming in with a Nett 68 to put her stamp on the Nett Trophy, Violet Ward had to settle for 2nd Nett with 69 and on countback on 72 was Karen Thomson taking 3rd Nett. Well played Ladies. The Hope ladies would like to thank Glen and Carol Miller from GM Training for their generous sponsorship and Gina at The Murray Arms for accommodating all the ladies and providing a delicious meal.
