72 hole challenge

Hi Folks. I have just had a wee update on the 72-hole Challenge, that was played back in mid May, at this point £4538 has been raised (we are still waiting on 2 sponsor forms to be returned) and this has been passed on to McMillan cancer trust, £622 of that money was raised at the event through the hard work of Ingrid Macpherson and her helpers and of course those who came along to support the players on the day and this amount has been handed directly to Mcmillan in Kirkwall.

The event was planned by Brian Kirkness who unfortunately had to pull out due to illness so the players involved and Ingrid got together to finalise proceedings on behalf of Brian.

Benny Thomson and Craig MacPherson both raised well over £1000 each with there sponsor sheets with the others helping to bolster the final total.

So once again thank you’s have to go to Benny, Craig, Neil, Gary, Jim, Jamie, Derek and Richie for playing 72 holes on the Hope course in very challenging conditions to promote this worthy cause and also to Ingrid and all the others who helped make the event a success by caddying, making tea, baking etc. and to the people and organisations, to numerous to mention who donated in various ways.

(I apologise if I haven’t named all those involved personally but the list would be very long and I haven’t got all the info to hand but you know who you are and so do we and we appreciate it)
